How to remove the Picasa synced photos from Android?

Force stop (Kill) the Gallery App and disable the data transfer.

Go to Settings >  Accounts & Sync > your Google account and uncheck the Sync Picasa Web Album option.

Now go to Settings > Applications > Manage Applications > Gallery and clear the cache & data.

Enable the data transfer, open the Gallery again, hopefully you should be good.

  16. Does not work on Android 2.3.6 after killing the Gallery process and I killed it using a "Cleaner" app. Any ideas?

  17. For 2.3.6 it works. Open Accounts and Sync and select the checkbox for "Background data" and then also select the next option "Auto-sync" (*no data sync will happen at this moment). Once we do above, all the sync icons will bece GREEN. Now tap the account and you can remove sync for picasa (or others). Once you are satisfied with the sync selections for the account go back and untick the checkbox for "Auto-sync" if u prefer manual sync. ;-) Hope this helps. it worked for me. - samsung galaxy s, froyo 2.3.6

  27. I am worried that if I 'clear' the gallery, ALL of my photos will go.
I ONLY want to get rid of the picasa albums which somehow appear on my phone.
I have photos in albums on the phone (Galaxy S4), and want/need to keep. Yet the other Picasa albums are there. I already unchecked the sync buttons, but they are still there.
Any ideas about how I can get rid of ONLY the Picasa albums?

    1. Clearing the cache & the gallery data will not delete the original source. It will clear the local cached copy of the photos and the thumbnails of them. Photos you have clicked using your mobile camera should be safe.

If you are really worried then I would suggest you to copy the photos to your computer and then follow the steps above. Later you can copy the photos back to phone.
